The village of Chayka is located in north-east Bulgaria (Varna district), 15.9 km south from Provadiya on the Royak Plateau. It is included in Provadia municipality.

Nearby the village were found two Thracian fortresses dating back from the Roman age. The first school is established in 1888 and the community centre in 1920. Recently, Chayka is gaining the look of a resort village. Annually a ceramics seminar is held there.
The village is situated on a hill, which commands a splendid view of one of the most beautiful and biggest dam lakes in Bulgaria - the dam lake of Tsonevo with 28 km lenght, as well as of the surrounding plains, hills and forests. The dam lake is located in 8 km away from the village. Tourism and fishing are active there all the year. The village of Chayka is known not only for its remarkable nature, but for its unique curative climate, calmness and perspective also. Rural and hunting tourism are developped. There is a shop, cafes, an ethnographical complex with a restaurant and a hotel. There are projects and ideas of a holiday village, a balneotherapy sanatorium, a breeding-pond, a chair lift and a horse base. Rock scramble and paraplanerism are active in the area too.
