Bansko is a picturesque and unique town. Located at the foot of Pirin Mountain, with population of 10 000 citizens, preserved its authentic appearance – narrow, zigzag streets, monolith stone walls, and typical Bulgarian houses. The favorable geographical position of Bansko town provides a constant winter snow cover, up to 2 m. thick from December to May. The access to the ski slopes is provided by the ski lifts. Well maintained ski tracks with 65 km. length. The average temperature during January, the coldest month, is - 1.9АC. The skiing season along the Pirin slopes starts in the middle of December and ends in mid April.
